Android quest
The Android quest is especially different from many of the standard quest branches in vanilla NetHack and even the many other quests in dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack, including the base Anachrononaut quest: unlike the Anachrononaut, an Android hero can access the quest at any experience level, and will discover that something terrible has befallen their comrades. As with the Anachrononaut, the Android must make their way to the goal level and fight a group of elder brains to retrieve their quest artifact, The Annulus.

Hmm, this isn't the apocalypse you might remember...
While somewhat similar to the Anachrononaut quest home level, the Android quest lacks several of its qualities and many others have been changed: for one, there's no need to worry about beating the surrounding hostiles to the quest leader—she's already dead (or might as well be) and does not gate access to the quest level. The level is also overrun by various monsters such as mind flayers and edderkops, as well as those changed by the influence of the Far Realms (including one of the remaining survivors).
As in the Anachrononaut quest, the right-hand portion of the home level is composed of a random maze around the provided 'landmarks' of floor, and the magic portal opens somewhere in this maze. Several mind flayers, four edderkops, a parasitized embraced alider, five 'standard' changed, a warrior changed, a twitching four-armed changed, an elder brain, and the sleeping clairvoyant changed are all generated at the marked locations during level creation; the warrior changed and twitching four-armed changed share the same color glyph, so the latter is marked differently (H) in order to distinguish them.
The two shops within the base are empty and abandoned, and the storage rooms are much less plentiful in future tech and tools, with an opening in the northenmost one's walls. In clockwise order, the contents of the chests are as follows:
- The chest marked 1 contains up to three hand blasters and one power pack, and each individual item has a 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 2 contains one guaranteed stack of bullets, and there are four rifles, four assault rifles and another stack of bullets that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 3 contains one guaranteed stack of shotgun shells, and there are two shotguns and three other stacks of shotgun shells that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 4 contains one guaranteed stack of frag grenades, and there is a grenade launcher and another stack of frag grenades that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 5 contains one guaranteed stack of gas grenades, and there is a grenade launcher and another stack of gas grenades that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 6 contains one guaranteed force pike and one guaranteed vibroblade, and there is a second force blade and vibroblade that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 7 contains two lightsabers that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 8 contains a guaranteed pick-axe, and there are two cutting lasers, two more pick-axes and a power pack that each have an individual 1⁄4 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 9 contains nine sacks that each have an individual 1⁄2 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked 0 contains hyposprays and two stacks of ampules.
- The chest marked a that contains three bullet fabbers in the Anachrononaut quest is completely empty.
- The chest marked b contains two full plasteel armor sets, but only one pair of plasteel boots is guaranteed, and the other items each have an individual 1⁄4 chance of being generated.
- The chest marked c contains three bodygloves.
- The chest marked d contains a single towel.
Upper filler level(s)
The upper filler levels are randomly generated mazes, with the ruined tower and moat above in the center of the level. A random L and a vampire lord occupy the tower at the marked positions, while a kraken is at the marked square within the moat.

A random maze is overlaid onto the above map, resulting in a fairly open level with short segments of wall.
Crucified androids and crucified gynoids are placed at the marked locations along with a parasitized commander; the crucified androids and gynoids share the same color glyph, so the latter are marked differently (G) in order to distinguish them. Several other monsters are placed randomly across the level: four parasitized operators, seven parasitized gynoids, three parasitized androids, fourteen flayed gynoids, six flayed androids, ten mind flayers, five master mind flayers, eight psurlon long worms, seven razorvines, and eight cranium rodents of unusual size.
Scattered across the level are a small group of four dilithium crystals that each have a 1⁄4 chance of generating, and a second large group of twenty dilithium crystals that each have a 1⁄10 chance of generating. Several other items are individually placed randomly around the level as well, with the totals of each item type listed below and non-guaranteed items listing their probability in parentheses:

Each of the lower filler levels use the map above, with the up stair placed randomly in the outer ring while the down stair sits at the center of the level.
Monsters are placed as in the Anachrononaut quest: eight mind flayers and a master mind flayer are placed in the corridors surrounding the central area; an elder brain sits at the center of the pool atop the down stair, and seven hostile trooper husks, six brain golems, three semblances, three umber hulks and a hooloovoo are randomly placed in the area immediately surrounding the pool; and three uvuudaums are also spread throughout the entirety of the level. Uvuudaums that are generated on the Anachrononaut and Android quests are always hostile, and should be approached with extreme caution or else avoided altogether. As in the Anachrononaut quest, the "collapsed" rooms behind the iron bars are composed of secret corridors.

The up stairs leading back to the lower filler level is placed on one of the several marked squares at the bottom of the map. The dash-filled southern portion is overlaid with a randomized maze area during level creation, and the remainder of the level is deliberately patterned after the Astral Plane, representing the complex of temples after Ilsensine caused them to crash into the earth below (as described in the quest text). The doors leading from the up stair section into the western and eastern wings are locked, as are the doors to the north temple and the area outside the east temple. The level is non-diggable, though phasing is allowed.
As in the Anachrononaut quest, an elder brain is generated at each of the locations marked above in lieu of a formal quest nemesis. Other monsters are randomly placed around the whole of the level: 14 trooper husks, 16 mind flayers, two master mind flayers, ten brain golems, five semblances, six umber hulks, a hooloovoo, seven uvuudaums, three psurlon long worms, three regular long worms, and a psurlon purple worm.
Items are laid out as in the Anachrononaut quest as well—see the appropriate section in the article for more specific information. The blessed +0 Annulus is generated last as it is there, so that it will always appear on the top of a pile (making it easier to find with object detection) and will not be placed in the corridor areas occupied by the elder brains.

First time:
You have found the Bastions' portal, that leads through time to the warrens surrounding what was the last-surviving Bastion.
Data-sync indicates a hero from the Bastion passed through this place on their way to a battle site known as Ground Zero. The Annulus, though taken from Ground Zero, has followed the unbroken ring of time back to that place.
You should hasten to Ground Zero, for there is nothing for you in the shattered remains of the Bastion.
Next time:
Once again, you pass through the portal.
There is no quest leader or guardians present, nor is there any form of alignment record requirement, and thus there are no associated messages.
Locate and goal levels
When first entering the locate level:
The ruins here are just barely recognizable. In this city, there was a laboratory where research into autonomous thaumaturgic war machines was conducted.
You came on-line in that laboratory, and underwent preliminary testing in and around this city. As your sister wrote, it seems the city has since been destroyed in a meteor bombardment. Beyond the city you see a growing disk of distorted matter rising into the night sky.
The data synced from the Bastion net indicates that you will need to pass that zone to reach the Ground Zero battle site.

When returning:
Once again, you arrive at the ruins of the city.
When first entering the goal level:
An overwhelming feeling of being watched fills your mind. You have reached Ground Zero, where Heaven fell to earth.
When returning:
You have returned to Ground Zero.

When picking up your quest artifact:
You have recovered the Annulus, lost at the Battle of Heavenfall on the Eve of Falling Stars, retrieved, and lost again.
You must break the ring of time.
